Re Cap Decade 98

The following is especially for the people who couldn't make it to the meet unfortunately! We missed you!

We indeed did manage a great show! 140 Odd of us made it to the meet! It’s by far a record and we only could wish that some other batch breaks it some day!

It was a great feeling to meet everyone at one single place, at one single point in time and for one more time in life! Am sure everyone who made it to the meet will acknowledge this. It was exciting and fun to relive those wonderful carefree years! It was great to see that quiet a few folks flew down to India to be part of this event! It was heartening to see many of us being accompanied by their families. Such was the importance and our passion about this meet!

  • It started of with all the alumni introducing ourselves. Then few of us shared our thoughts and experiences followed by the felicitations by the management!
  • Then came the cultural events followed by our own entertainment! The respective department students and staff met our guys in a very brief knowledge sharing session!
  • Then it was a small bye bye time for people who had to leave that Saturday itself rather who could not participate in the trip!

Trip to Cunnoor -

Two buses with roughly 100 odd people and 5 cars left for Cunnoor. There started the reliving again. It was as good as any of the IVs we would have gone during our college days or probably the return trip from TIES '97 from PSG Tech! To add to our excitement, few families also joined us and they too enjoyed it! 20th Evening/Night was simply an awesome experience!

The most important exercise was on the 20th around mid night, where many of us shared our experiences (success and failure). It was really great to realize what everyone has achieved in the past 10 years! A few doctorates, many entrepreneurs, few lecturers etc.,. It was such an enriching experience to meet them all under one roof rather around a camp fire. Achievement is a relative term and there is nothing like a small or a great achievement! So in general, every one of us are doing good!

Sunday morning was even more fun at a park. Sight ;) Seeing/Seven stones/Very own Kolai Kolaiyaa Mundirikka etc., It wasn't just that we were reliving the '94 - '98 days, but went a bit more down the memory lane! Though both the days were great experiences, the one we enjoyed the most was at the park!

At this juncture, I think we should thank quiet a few! I take the liberty to do so on behalf of all DONS! I hope I don't miss (m)any! If I do, its again unintentional!

Management, Volunteers:, Mr.Jayapathi, Nandha Kumar,Nirmal Kumar, Vijayakumar, Families, Pavithra

I'm consciously not thanking Ashok, Gomathy & Baskar. They are part of us :).

To everyone who was part of this, a big Thank you! Unfortunately, to express our at most gratitude, there is only one word in English and that is THANKS!
To Sum it all, it was fun/exciting/enriching/relaxing 2 days; a lot of contacts created/renewed. I hope these contacts create more opportunities for everyone!

Wish you all the very best. May our lives be filled with a lot more happiness, cheer, joy, success, peace and harmony!

As Always,
Rajkumar K.
